This is a 54 year old female who underwent a "belt lipectomy" or circumferential lower body lift which included an abdominoplasty. She was 5' 3" and 158 pounds at the time of surgery after having lost approximately 50 pounds. Post-operative pictures are from 2 months after the surgery. A lower body lift or belt lipectomy provides a dramatic improvement in body contour as can be seen in these pictures. The trade-off is a circumferential scar which is hidden beneath the underwear and a difficult recovery for the first few weeks. Most patients agree that the new shape is worth the scar and recovery.
