This is a 34 year old woman who complained about prominent ears. She underwent an otoplasty procedure in order to set her ears back. Dr. Vath used three otoplasty techniques in order to achieve a more aesthetic ear appearance: 1) sutures placed in the cartilage behind the ear to create the upper ear fold and pull the upper ear back 2) sutures placed in the cartilage behind the ear to tack the middle ear bowl back towards the scalp and 3) excision of an ellipse of the middle ear cartilage bowl to reduce middle ear projection.
