Semi-Permanent Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers such as Sculptra® and RADIESSE® in Denver are both shown to stimulate collagenesis – the production of new collagen – which results in increased volume for natural looking wrinkle correction that last 1 year or more in many patients. Like hyaluronic acid fillers, RADIESSE and Sculptra are both biocompatible and do not require a skin test prior to injection.

RADIESSE filler is made of calcium-based microspheres which are suspended in a water-based gel. RADIESSE is not approved for all areas of the face. It is typically used to improve volume loss in the cheekbones and in the nasolabial folds around the mouth.

Sculptra Aesthetic is made from poly-L-lactic acid, which helps to replace lost collagen. Sculptra's reinforced collagen structure provides a foundation that gradually restores the look of fullness to facial wrinkles and folds that has been depleted over time. Sculptra requires several injections over a period of months, and is approved for use in the cheeks to provide patients with a fuller, more natural look. Sculptra can last up to 2 years.

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, RADIESSE and Sculptra cannot be corrected or removed once injected and they typically last longer. Because of this, we recommend our patients considering these fillers try JUVÉDERM® or Restylane® first to make sure they are pleased with the effect.
