Meet Dr. Cunningham

Dr. Teresa Cunningham is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has been practicing in the Denver area since 2018 and joined The Center for Cosmetic Surgery in 2023. She has enjoyed treating patients from throughout Colorado and beyond and is consistently humbled to be chosen by patients from all over the country.  

Dr. Cunningham feels that the most important thing to do as a surgeon is to listen. Each patient has unique goals and needs, so starting with the initial consultation, she works with them to create a personalized surgical plan to best achieve those goals. With many plastic surgery patients being female, her perspective as a woman offers a unique advantage in helping her female patients achieve beautiful, natural-looking results. 

Rigorous Education & Training 

Dr. Cunningham grew up in the suburbs of Milwaukee and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she graduated with the highest honors. She then went on to graduate magna cum laude with her medical degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio (Go Buckeyes!). It was in medical school that she fell in love with the breadth of the field of plastic surgery and its ability to combine artistry and medicine to solve complex problems.   

After medical school, she completed an integrated plastic surgery residency at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. During her time there, she had the privilege of traveling abroad to the countries of Moldova and Bolivia to care for those less fortunate and help educate the local physicians so that they could learn to provide modern care for years to come.

Helping Patients Feel Complete 

After residency, Dr. Cunningham moved to Denver, Colorado, to begin practice. She attains great satisfaction from helping her patients feel whole again through plastic surgery of the face, breast, and body. Whether her patients have concerns caused by trauma, cancer, pregnancy, the natural aging process, or something they were born with, Dr. Cunningham takes pride in helping them restore their confidence and enhance their natural beauty. 

Personal Interests 

When she’s not working, Dr. Cunningham enjoys spending time with her husband, Eric, and their two dogs, Lulu and Rue. She enjoys traveling, painting, cheering on her favorite sports teams, listening to live music, and cooking and tasting new foods. As a dancer from early childhood through college, Dr. Cunningham is committed to staying active. She has completed numerous half marathons, her favorites of which were through the Disney parks.
